Polu Lani (Hawaiian for Blue Sky) Farms was established in 2001 on 38 acres near Honomu, Hawaii. We grow lychee, longan, rambutan, cacao, avocado, dragon fruit, abiu, soursop, bananas, plantains, and pineapples. Genetically modified crops are not grown on our farm. Our fruit is sold at the local farmer’s market and also shipped to other islands and the mainland.
We got bees to help pollinate our trees. The bees have been a great addition to our farm and we always enjoy working with them. Their delicious honey has been an added bonus! We keep our bees in two kinds of hives: Langstroth and Top Bar. Most of our honey comes from the Langstroth hives. We have a limited supply of chunk honey from our Top Bar hives.
We received so many compliments on our natural, raw honey from our ohana and friends; we decided to establish Hana Hou Honey. We take pride and joy in offering a small taste of Hawaii through our onolicious Hana Hou Honey made with “aloha”.
Mahalo for taking the time to learn about us!
